Facebook And Its New UI Thing


Being social media professionals, we tend to accept everything that comes to us. We know what it means to be updated with the technology. Facebook, our very own lovely friend has something new in its kitty again. After upgrading the user interface for the personal profiles, it’s soon going to bring a little more surprise for its pages as well.  It’s all in the news nowadays and most of us have joined to queue of waiting list.

As the update says, FB will soon be introducing an easier way to access the admin panel, as it will be showcasing all the important data on the left side of near the cover image. Look at the screenshot that I just stole from them.

I know, most of us are a little confused, how is it going to be, will it be easy to access and some would also be confused whether they should stay in social media or not, lol. But friends, Facebook’s new update is surely going to add value to what we do and what we wish to do.

The only thing that I was concerned was, if the page insights are going to change or not? And looking at the news released by Facebook, the answer comes out to be YES! It will have a new look, but not sure whether it is going to add some more data to it or is it going to be the same.

The Final Thought:

We know how Facebook acts when it spends its time and effort on bringing the new UI. Yes, your page’s reach will soon fall. Your clients will ask you the reason and when you tell them that FB is a business driven social media platform and it deliberately reduces the page reach so that we run paid campaigns. Your clients will doubt your skills and then you will be sitting poker faced.

Conclusion:

We have no other option than accepting what is coming to us because even if we don’t join the waiting list FB will soon upgrade the pages on its own. So, enjoy a new look and feel of Facebook pages and let me know what you think about it.

In continuation to the previous blog, New Facebook Insights – Part 1 now we will be digging into insights a little further.

This tab is absolutely new with great new features. Through this, you can know your fans’ behavior. It has been divided into major three pages:

All Posts:

This is the section where you can check each and every post. This will help you understand what kinds of posts work for your brand. So, now understanding this report you can plan your content accordingly. You can compare between posts based on various metrics.

On the basis of reach, post clicks and engagement the above data is fetched. It is somewhat similar to the previous version but with new color schemes. The best part of this section has to be the metrics. In reach you can have specific data like paid/organic and fans/non-fans.

When Your Friends Are Online

Till now, we have heard that if you really want to know the right time when your Facebook fans are online then use hit and try method! We have been posting on different times to check exactly at what time our fans are online. The new algorithm has reduced this work to minimal as now we can see how many fans are online at what time.

Facebook has divided this into two i.e. Days and Time.

Days explains us the average number of fans who see my post on a given day of the week. In the below graph you can see most of my page fans are active on Sunday followed by Tuesday. So, if there is anything very important I want to share I probably will use these two days.

To get the in-depth insights of your fans’ behavior the next graph is going to be a great help. Time graph tells us what is the time in a day when your most of the fans are online.

In this graph, you can see most of my page fans are active at 9 PM. Now, if I post at 9 I can expect more engagement on the page because the visibility of my posts would be much higher at this time.

Best Post Types:

This segment tells you kinds of updates that drive different level of engagement on the page. It is categorized into Status updates, video postings, image posts and link sharing.

People Tab:

In this tab, you will get the complete insight of your fans. Just like the last version you will see here age, gender and location of your fan base.

The only addition here is people reached and people engaged. So, here you can see people fans/non-fans that have been reached or engaged in past 28 days.

If your most of the fans reached are men just like me then there is no harm in changing your content strategy keeping your fan base in mind.

Twitter has come up like a storm in our social media influenced lives. Initially, it was treated as a platform where people share their breakfast stories but with time the audience changed. It has now become one of the most influential social networking sites. Everyday thousands of people are signing up to this amazing and interactive platform.

Going back in my past, I remember when I made my account on Twitter back in 2008 it was like landing on an alien land. It was really hard to figure out what it wants me to do. No doubt, this little bird grew its wings much faster than its competitors. Now, you can see television advertisements promoting twitter hashtags.

If you are a fresher or a pro there are certain things that you should always keep in mind while using Twitter. It’s not like any random social media platform where you can post anything about you or your family. Here, most of the people are available to know your take on a particular issue. You have followers because there are some people who think that you are talking about their interest. So, while tweeting don’t be too random!

Add value to every tweet:

If you are a brand and you are looking further to expand your reach then you should have something special to offer to your followers. The same can be applied to your personal profile as well. Do not be too cozy in your tweets by sharing your personal stuff out there. If you really want to share something that is worth sharing then try to add a picture let others see too because at this point you really have fresh content with you. 

Control adding # before every word: 

#Who #is #interested #in #reading #blue #linked #tweets #with #so #many #hashtags? This is the reason why some people lose their followers frequently. If you are not behaving in your tweets then your followers will be irate with it and they will leave you soon. Try to add an upper cap of 3 hashtags in your tweet. Do not exceed! 

Follow Back: 

You’ll find numerous profiles with some 10K followers and equivalent followings. It’s not a compulsion that you’ll have to follow each one who follows you. Being a brand, you should follow those who really finds your tweets interesting, because that’s your right TG. You can also follow the ones who are influencers, leaders or re-tweeters. This will give also help you get wider reach. 

Fulfill your commitments: 

A brand shall never tweet vague information on alerts. As an example, if you have announced a Twitter contest next Wednesday then you should not step back from it. People find it annoying when their loved brands do such things. Hence, when you are upto something don’t forget to complete it. It’s all about keeping your followers in mind.

No Automatic Tweeting:

Hootsuite is undoubtedly a good way to schedule your tweets or Facebook posts but when you are talking about engagement then using automated tweets will not be that helpful for you. Your followers might want to get in touch with you. Such tweeting apps will not be able give that comfort level to your followers. You can use it but controlling it is always an option for you!

I am not very much sure about this, I came across with it while going through an article. Indian audience does a lot of manual retweets but people around the world thinks entirely different about it.
