Twitter has come up like a storm in our social media influenced lives. Initially, it was treated as a platform where people share their breakfast stories but with time the audience changed. It has now become one of the most influential social networking sites. Everyday thousands of people are signing up to this amazing and interactive platform.

Going back in my past, I remember when I made my account on Twitter back in 2008 it was like landing on an alien land. It was really hard to figure out what it wants me to do. No doubt, this little bird grew its wings much faster than its competitors. Now, you can see television advertisements promoting twitter hashtags.

If you are a fresher or a pro there are certain things that you should always keep in mind while using Twitter. It’s not like any random social media platform where you can post anything about you or your family. Here, most of the people are available to know your take on a particular issue. You have followers because there are some people who think that you are talking about their interest. So, while tweeting don’t be too random!

Twitter Manners: 

Add value to every tweet:

If you are a brand and you are looking further to expand your reach then you should have something special to offer to your followers. The same can be applied to your personal profile as well. Do not be too cozy in your tweets by sharing your personal stuff out there. If you really want to share something that is worth sharing then try to add a picture let others see too because at this point you really have fresh content with you. 

Control adding # before every word: 

#Who #is #interested #in #reading #blue #linked #tweets #with #so #many #hashtags? This is the reason why some people lose their followers frequently. If you are not behaving in your tweets then your followers will be irate with it and they will leave you soon. Try to add an upper cap of 3 hashtags in your tweet. Do not exceed! 

Follow Back: 

You’ll find numerous profiles with some 10K followers and equivalent followings. It’s not a compulsion that you’ll have to follow each one who follows you. Being a brand, you should follow those who really finds your tweets interesting, because that’s your right TG. You can also follow the ones who are influencers, leaders or re-tweeters. This will give also help you get wider reach. 

Fulfill your commitments: 

A brand shall never tweet vague information on alerts. As an example, if you have announced a Twitter contest next Wednesday then you should not step back from it. People find it annoying when their loved brands do such things. Hence, when you are upto something don’t forget to complete it. It’s all about keeping your followers in mind.

No Automatic Tweeting:

Hootsuite is undoubtedly a good way to schedule your tweets or Facebook posts but when you are talking about engagement then using automated tweets will not be that helpful for you. Your followers might want to get in touch with you. Such tweeting apps will not be able give that comfort level to your followers. You can use it but controlling it is always an option for you!

Manual Retweets:

I am not very much sure about this, I came across with it while going through an article. Indian audience does a lot of manual retweets but people around the world thinks entirely different about it.
